GlobalStem acquisition strengthens MTI’s position in the stem cell reagent market

- Gaithersburg, Maryland, April 19, 2010 — Molecular Transfer, Inc. today announced that it has acquired GlobalStem, a provider of stem cell reagents and services. This acquisition will allow MTI to move quickly into the stem cell market using GlobalStem’s strong market presences and experienced stem cell and neuroscience scientific team.
"Merging the two companies brings together experts in transfection and stem cell biology giving MTI an advantage in the market.” said Joel Jessee, CEO at MTI. "Through this acquisition, we're excited to be able to build on GlobalStem’s business and introduce novel transfection reagents for neuronal and stem cells."
Both MTI and GlobalStem reside in Maryland’s Montgomery County Life Science community and this proximity will allow their R&D groups to work very closely together.
